I just recently stumbled upon Joe Infurnari’s The Process, and let me simply say, the comic is a visual feast. Fires of pure, unabashed jealousy burn through me after regarding his lush and energized pages as well as what I take to be painstaking presentation. Even the website lends itself to the concept of creative discovery, whereby the visitor plunges into a world still familiar but alien to our own. Truly worthy of its Eisner nomination, I would highly recommend checking it out.
I also had the recent displeasure of viewing George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead. Unlike my relatively positive encounter with his film, Land of the Dead, a few summers ago, the presentation of Diary just seemed a bit to lashed together and above all poorly written. Good zombie effects, lousy acting. Being a self-proclaimed, zombie aficionado, I long for a more realistic treatment of the genre, something akin to what Cloverfield accomplished for the monster movie. Sadly, it looks like I’ll have to wait.
I should also add that I have been immensely enjoying recent reader comments. Thanks for laughs.
