A recent discussion I participated in has led me to question – who is the rightful mascot of the Internet? All things considered, we should have a mascot! One who braves the treacherous sidelines of pop-culture, capering and dancing for our entertainment while the unwashed masses jeer and throw bottles. But who has the intrinsic right for such a lofty position?
I’m sure there are many contenders. I’ve posted a few of my own nominees in the Slither forum, but who would you designate the emblem of all things Interwebs?
Even the undead should use door mats!
While this post may seem as random as any other, I was prompted to toss out this sketch by the gift of a new TV and a subsequent round of my favorite game, Dead Rising! Boy, Capcom did an awesome job with the game. I find myself running around – Lego-Head, katana, and power suit at the ready – exploring the in’s and out’s of the zombie-infested mall. Of course, my pleasant stroll is often interrupted by the cries of folks who need saving. I’m all too happy to oblige (except that punk kid photographer, grrrr).
Wizard World Chicago is right around the corner, but sadly, I don’t have a table this year. I didn’t realize it was creeping up so fast! Usually they hold WW Chicago in August, but dark forces must have been conspiring to confuse me. I’ll probably still drop by just to scope out Artist Alley and to see some of the crazier booths. While I’m not a frequent Comic Convention attendee, there’s something fun about seeing Imperial Stormtroopers stalking the streets in Rosemont.
