About
Slither and Friends
Slither and Friends features the daily struggles of its principle character, Slither J. Garter, against the backdrop of his quasi-mythical homeland, the Plateau. And while Slither never lacks in enthusiasm, his wild antics are rarely appreciated in the minds of his fellow woodland creatures.

Slither
The main character of the strip. Slither’s a little more insane than your average garden snake. He makes up for his odd ways with fast recovering optimism and unrelenting ambition. Though absent-minded, Slither doesn’t want to be ostracized. Behind his bewildering behavior lies a heart yearning for acceptance.
More recently, Slither has struggled against unemployment only to be elected the Plateau’s first and only grand, illustrious, fat-free mayor (not to be confused with an actual mayor). His policies have been… unpopular to say the least.
Herman
The best of Slither’s few friends, Herman has quickly learned to look passed Slither’s many faults. He also finds himself an unwilling conspirator in many of Slither’s schemes. Patient, intelligent, and compassionate, Herman exemplifies the true meaning of friendship.
When not tagging along with his zany friend, Herman works as a librarian at the Plateau’s University. Though he’s an avid reader, he’s terrified of writing something of his own. For the time being, he bides his time, wistfully paging through the masterpieces of others.
Sarah
More of a typical resident of the Plateau, Sarah earns her living as the local school teacher. She’s a no-nonsense, assertive woman, that rarely feels the need to justify her actions. Sarah’s befriended Slither originally more on principle than on any genuine sentiment. Rumors have started, however, and it’s not hard to envision sparks smoldering just beneath the surface. Only time will tell what will become of it.
