Those of you familiar with World of Warcraft may recognize a tuskar when you see it. The rest of you are probably just confused. Needless to say, the fancy to sketch one of these noble creatures struck me and here’s the hastily colored results.
I think it turned out rather well.
Just a goofy little idea that got into my head. Thought I might draw it out and post it here for the world to see.

Well, the week’s almost done, but here I am to deliver another halloween sketch. I will confess – the sketches have become “sketchier,” but I’m a busy man, dang it! Hopefully you will enjoy my quick rendition of good ol’ Frank.
I should note that I’m fully aware he is not – in fact – called “Frankenstein” but rather “Frankenstein’s Monster” (though in literary circles the preferred title is “the Creature”). But hey, Halloween is about fun and camp, not necessarily about accuracy.
I recently had the joy and privilege to go hear Scott McCloud speak at Columbia University in Chicago this Wednesday. While I was familiar with his work, it was my first time to hear him in a seminar environment. I was not disappointed.
Not only does Scott McCloud have a great speaking presence, but his unabashed, overflowing enthusiasm for comics is inspiring to a smalltime creator such as myself. For a man that has received a great deal of harsh criticism from the web comic community, he sure has nothing but glowing praise for digital comics. I’m pretty certain that you could power a spacecraft to the moon on his zeal alone.
I should thank both Kathleen for going to the seminar with me (and letting me know it was happening) and Beek, for sending me that signed copy of Understanding Comics a while back. You two are the best!

Another day another zombie! This one consists mainly of pencil work and a quick, one-layer coloring job. Still, I like how his pose came out.
Still keeping an eye out for other Halloween themed webcomic activities. If you happen across any in your internet travels, I’d be thrilled if you could come by and let me know about it. Feel free to just drop a comment with the appropriate link.
And just to speak of unrelated things, I recently discovered a fantastic podcast by the name of ExtraLife Radio. Hilarious! ExtraLife just so happens to be a really good webcomic too. Check ‘em out!
Just finished another Halloween sketch and here it is! Some sort of fish dude!

This guy was largely inspired by the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but I tried to make him appear a little more human looking. It’s been a lot of fun doing these sketches and I’ll be posting them sporadically so be sure to drop by and check every now and then.
